The Position:  North American Sales Director

The North American Sales Director leads the company’s branded sales business in the United States and Canada.  This includes key retail partners, independent distributors and specialty accounts. This position reports to the Global VP of Sales, who is a member of the Leadership Team.

Who You Are: 

You are based in Colorado and have solid experience working in the outdoor, bike, or run markets across the country. You have a strong network and a deep understanding of the national and specialty outdoor business that will allow you to make an immediate impact. You're ready to apply this expertise to a brand with significant growth opportunities in front of it. You know the products in these categories and recognize the value they bring to athletes of all levels and are eager to become a hydration expert.

Responsibilities:
Overall Management
  • Oversee and manage the national sales operations (US and Canada), ensuring alignment with HydraPak's overall sales objectives.
  • Manage select Key Accounts and a minimum of two national Specialty Account Managers and provide direction to Inside Sales Rep(s).
  • Set sales goals, monitor performance, and ensure that regions and key accounts meet or exceed their targets.
  • Manage sales operations related to Amazon US and future ecommerce platforms. This includes pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies.
Pricing & Distribution
  • Develop national pricing strategies in collaboration with finance and product teams.
  • Oversee distribution channels – Major, Military, Specialty, Custom – ensuring timely product delivery and availability across different regions.
Market Expansion
  • Research and identify new business opportunities, retail partners, and distributors in the US and Canadian markets.
  • Work on expanding presence in relevant categories.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure product-market fit in various regions across the US.
Relationship Management
  • Foster collaboration between sales, marketing, product development, and customer service teams.
  • Build and/or maintain strong relationships with US retail partners, key accounts and distributors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and agreements with partners to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
Data & Reporting
  • Track and analyze US sales performance, reporting on key metrics such as revenue, market share, and profit margins.
  • Use sales data to forecast future performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Monitor financial performance and budget allocation for national sales efforts.
Product Launches & Marketing Collaboration
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on product launches and promotional campaigns in the US market.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams on US-specific needs, consumer preferences, and performance of current product lines.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to drive online traffic, optimize the customer journey, and maximize conversions in US and Canadian markets.
Travel & Trade Shows
  • Represent HydraPak at national trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences.
  • Travel frequently to meet with partners, distributors, and customers.
Specific Position Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Travel to visit customers, attend events, and attend trade shows across the US.
  • Able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of communicating with global teams.
  • Give frequent public presentations of our product line and company direction.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in business, communications, or related field required, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of sales or business development experience with product and category management; prior experience with major accounts or independent sales representative management is beneficial. Outdoor industry experience required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Gmail/Outlook, CRM software (Zendesk), and ERP knowledge preferred.
  • Current driver’s license and passport with a good driving record.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to maintain a high level of execution.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable for achieving excellent results.
  • Must be motivated and able to make decisions independently.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation will be determined based on the individual's experience and qualifications. The position is budgeted at a base salary of $130,000 - $150,000 per year plus an annual bonus of up to 15% of your base salary (dependent on company and personal performance).
  • 401(k) eligibility after 90 days of employment with employer match of up to 3.5%.
